FOTD: A pirate's life for me

Today I'm off to a pirate party and I left it until yesterday to even think about my costume. Worryingly when I finally went to sort it out I found a pretty decent costume within about ten minutes. That's about an hour less than it takes for me to pick out my everyday clothes. What??

There's some photos of my costume later in this post but first I wanted to share my FACE.

As you can probably tell I haven't really got the hang of photographing my face yet, despite my room being a lot brighter than it used to be I can never get the lighting right.

- I went for a mixture of brown and gold eyeshadows with thick, smudged black eyeliner above and below the eye.

- I also went for warm bronzer and gold shimmer on my cheekbones rather than my usual pink/peach blushers. When I think of pirates I think of very bronzed, glowing skin but it's hard to work that with my very pale complexion.

- As for lips I tried a bright red lipstick and red gloss but red really doesn't suit me at all so I'm thinking I might change this up for a nude shade.

So this is what I'll be wearing, not bad for a costume made entirely from things I already own I'd say. I could do with a sword really but I seem to have misplaced mine. (har har)

Honestly can't remember where most of this jewellery came from, but don't you love the pirate ring by Gogo Philip!?

Digging out appropriate pirate jewellery was the most fun part and my backup plan was to wear tons of pearls if I couldn't find anything else, but I didn't do too badly.

I might spend the rest of the morning watching the Pirates of the Caribbean movies and getting in the spirit.
